FAQ

Contact us for any additional questions

  • How does the rental work?
We show up with the Dino costume in a 14' trailer. You provide a physically fit person to get inside the costume to operate it. We will help you get into the costume and get out of it and show you how to operate. We will remain onsite during the event to assist and provide any guidance and safety to the operator and others around the costume. Operator must be between 5'9" and 6'3". The costume weights about 50 lbs and will strap over ther operator's shoulders and around their mid section like a hiking pack would. For an extra cost, we can provide an experienced operator inside the costume for 20-30 minutes of the rental time. This provide more lifelike movements, interactions and photo opportunities for all guests. Must have a space for us to park the trailer and unload the dino.
  • How long is the rental?
The total rental time is 1.5 hours. This includes about 15 minutes for set up and 15 for breakdown. Most operators will wear the costume for about 30 minutes maximum before they need a break. You can have multiple operators if you wish to maximize the rental usage time or take a break in between. Most part events will have about 10-15 minutes of 'reveal' or initial presentation and then another 10-15 minutes of photo ops followed by a dino break, and then the dino back out for some more antics or photos. Of course, you can adjust how you would like to use your time. We can also provide an outdoor Bluetooth speaker and fog machine for some drama and effect. Jurassic park theme music is always a hit.
  • Can I rent for longer periods?
Yes! contact us for more details about your event.
  • Is there a liability waiver?
Yes, you must sign a release of liability before any rental. We are also a licensed and insured business.
  • Where is this available?
We are currently offering in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, and Norfolk. Contact us for other nearby locations, extra charges apply.
  • Where can I have the dino?
It must be operated in temperatures below 80 degrees. Higher outdoor temperatures and direct sun make it very hot for any to operate more than a few minutes at at time. If used outdoors it must be in a dry open space with no rain. If indoors, it must be a space with a wide door entry and a large open space to allow for turning/moving. The dino is 14' long and over 8' high.
  • What does it cost?
The dino rental is $295.00 for approximately an hour and half. For $50 more we can provide an experienced operator for 20 minute intervals in the rental period.
  • How does it operate and who can/can't operate it?
It is a two person operation. The dino suite requires someone between 5'9" and 6'3" with an average build and with a max shoe size of about 11.5 to operate. You will need to wear a t-shirt, pants and socks. The operator will require assistance to get in and out of the suit. If you are a larger person, you may not be able to fit in the suit. First insert feet into the elastic footies inside the feet. Someone on the outside will zip up the legs up to the crotch. The operator will put should straps and a stomach strap around them just like a hiking pack. There is a vent fan overhead on a dedicated battery. There is a control grip to operate and articulate the head, open the jaw and play the sounds. There is a small screen so the operator can see directly in front of themself, but they cannot see on their sides, behind, or their feet. A second person is needed to help guide the operator so they don't knock into objects or people, or trip over uneven surfaces. The tail is about 8' long in the back and can swing and hit object or people. Once the operator is suited up, there are two chains on the back of the dino that hold the weight of suit on a steel frame. These will need to be released by someone on the outside.
